How To Create a Vision Board?

Vision boards are a collage of pictures or ideas that you’d like to have in the future/the best version of yourself. By creating a vision board this easily reminds you of the long term goals you may have.

20__, This vision board will help you see everything you would like.

  1. Find a resource: Google Images, Pinterest, Tumblr etc.

A trick that is very helpful when transferring pictures is right clicking on the image and pressing copy image. Then switch to the tab of your software/collage maker and press “ctrl v.” This helps saves space on your disk, because you do not have to download it.

2. Use a software/collage maker: Powerpoint, Canva, Word etc.

Canva is my personal favorite, because it is easy. There are specific tools that are used for pro which costs money. Another alternative is pixel and it does the same as Canva, but I prefer Canva’s format.

3. Have Fun with it.

Layer all the pictures and so it is cohesive. The collage does not have to follow a specific color theme or aesthetic.

One of the vision board formats I used to format my own:

  • health/fitness pictures towards the top left hand corner
  • spiritual pictures in the top right corner
  • travel/family/friend pictures in the bottom left corner
  • studying pictures in the bottom right corner
  • fame in the middle of the collage

4. Some questions you should ask yourself before you decide what to put on your vision board:

  1. How do you want to be perceived?
  2. What do you want to be accomplished?
  3. Do you want to travel around the world?
  4. Do you want to meet up with your friends more often?
  5. Who are your inspirations?
  6. Where do you want to be in the next year?
  7. How will you be in the next year?

Sometimes my collage could look a bit choppy in specific places, so a good way to help cover up those rough patches are using quotes or making the pictures smaller to cover it up. Here’s an example of a collage: In this collage there is a color theme and they gradually blend the pictures together.

Feel free to take these wallpapers/vision boards if it matches up with your best version of yourself, but I highly recommend you personalize your own to match up with your goals. I hope these vision board examples help you figure out what you want.

Vision boards can be physical or you can even put the vision board as your desktop or mobile wallpaper/background. It’s a constant reminder or you can buy a physical foam board and cut all the images & glue them on. Either way, have fun with. Do not stress and imagine your future self.

I hope this article helps you create your vision board. Whatever or whenever year you are reading this, I hope you not only create this vision board, but run after your goals and dreams. You can do it.
